Smooth, Permeable & Modern

Why Choose Resin Bound?

Seamless Modern Finish

A smooth, uniform surface with no loose stones — delivering a clean, contemporary look that transforms your home's kerb appeal instantly.

Wide Colour Range

Choose from warm golden blends, silver granite mixes, charcoal tones and coastal finishes — all using naturally coloured stone that won't fade.

Permeable & SuDS Compliant

Water drains through the surface rather than running off — reducing flood risk and often meeting SuDS planning requirements without extra drainage.

Low Maintenance

No weeds pushing through, no loose stones to scatter, and no re-sanding required. An occasional jet wash keeps it looking as good as the day it was laid.

Why Our Resin Bound Wins

Structural Base

Cheap installers lay resin directly over existing tarmac or unstable ground — leading to cracking and delamination within months.
We excavate to full depth and install a compacted Type 3 sub-base with permeable concrete — built to last structurally, not just visually.

Our Way

UV-Stable Resin

Non-UV-stable resins yellow and degrade in sunlight, turning your driveway an unattractive amber within a year or two.
We use only UV-stable polyurethane resin — ensuring the colour and clarity of your surface is maintained for years in the Sussex climate.

True Permeability

Poorly designed systems use dense sub-bases that block drainage — defeating the purpose of a permeable surface and risking planning issues.
Our open-graded Type 3 sub-base and permeable concrete base maintain true water infiltration throughout the full build-up depth.

Edge Restraints

Resin feathered to nothing at the edges cracks and lifts over time — leaving an unsightly, crumbling perimeter within the first winter.
We install concrete kerbs, aluminium edging or brick borders — all securely haunched — so the resin edge is always supported and consistent.

The Greenways Standard

Our 8-Step Resin Bound Installation

01

Site Assessment & Drainage Strategy

Full evaluation of ground conditions, existing levels, surface water flow, infiltration suitability, vehicle usage and site gradient — including SuDS design where permeability is required.

02

Excavation to Structural Formation

Excavation to full structural depth (typically 350–450mm) for vehicle loading and drainage requirements. All unsuitable material removed and responsibly disposed of.

03

Geotextile Separation Layer

Non-woven geotextile membrane installed over the prepared formation to prevent upward migration of fines, protect permeability and reduce long-term settlement.

04

Open-Graded Sub-Base (Type 3)

MOT Type 3 open-graded aggregate (SHW Clause 805 compliant) installed in controlled layers and mechanically compacted — providing structural support with approximately 30% void space for drainage.

05

Permeable Concrete Base

Minimum 150mm permeable concrete reinforced with structural macro synthetic fibres — designed for vehicle loadings and installed to tight tolerances (3mm under a 1m straightedge).

06

Edge Restraints & Perimeter Detailing

Concrete kerbs, brick borders or aluminium edging systems securely bedded and haunched to prevent lateral movement. Resin thickness maintained consistently to the perimeter — never feathered.

07

Resin Bound Surface Installation

UV-stable polyurethane resin mixed on site with washed, kiln-dried natural aggregate in forced-action mixers. Hand-trowelled to a uniform depth of 18–20mm minimum for vehicle areas.

08

Curing & Client Aftercare

Surface protected during cure with controlled access. Full aftercare guidance provided to maintain appearance and permeability — including cleaning advice and long-term maintenance tips.

Built on Proper Groundworks

Why Our Process Matters

Most resin driveway failures — cracking, delamination, surface lifting and drainage breakdown — originate from inadequate sub-base preparation, not the resin itself. Because we are experienced groundworks professionals first, we prioritise correct excavation depth, open-graded drainage layers, permeable concrete and structural edge support.

We never lay resin over unstable ground or failing surfaces. The result is a resin bound driveway that performs structurally — not just visually — and remains smooth, permeable and intact for years to come.
