Garden Patio & Driveway Transformation
At Mile Oak Crescent in Southwick, our Greenways Sussex team transformed a tired garden into a fresh, inviting outdoor space. This project began after the homeowners completed an extension to their house and realized they needed new outdoor areas to complement their improved home. We approached the work with quality craftsmanship and a clear understanding of the family’s vision. The outcome is a clean, strong, and elegant finish that not only boosts the property’s curb appeal but also provides a perfect setting for outdoor family enjoyment.
Project Overview
The homeowners needed a practical yet stylish solution for their garden outdoor areas. The old patio and driveway had been disrupted by the home extension, leaving a blank slate in need of improvement. Our goal was to create a recreational space that matched the fresh look of the new build while ensuring long-term durability.
To achieve this, we selected high-quality materials:
– Marshalls Saxon grey slabs (patio)
– 50mm Marshalls charcoal grey block paving (driveway)
– Staffordshire blue bricks (edging wall)
This combination of materials offered a modern grey palette that complements the house and provides long-lasting performance.
Our Approach
We began by carefully planning the project from the ground up. Our approach covered every step from initial groundworks to finishing touches:
– Ground Preparation: Excavated and reduced the ground to required levels.
– Foundation & Sub-Base: Laid membrane and compacted Type 1 mot stone sub-base.
– Edging Wall: Built with Staffordshire blue bricks on concrete foundation.
– Patio Installation: Laid Marshalls Saxon grey slabs on marine sand and cement.
– Driveway Paving: Screeded sharp sand and laid 50mm Marshalls block pavers.
Throughout the process, our team focused on accuracy and durability, adhering to best practices to ensure a long-lasting result.
